COURSE DESCRIPTION AND GOALS: An introductory course in printmaking techniques and process. Students will explore their own imagery through various printmaking techniques including; Relief, intaglio, screenprinting and alternative processes.

METHOD OF EVALUATION: The student will be evaluated on both their artistic and technical proficiency for each project. Each project will deal with a specific process and we will be working on a strict deadline (projects that are not completed by the given deadline will be deducted by 10%). Final exam will be an exchange print.

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION: Printmaking processes will be covered through class demonstrations. These demos will be announced and due to the technical nature of each process your attendance is mandatory . Individual meetings will be conducted to discuss the artistic development of each students imagery. Field trips and portfolio reviews will be included as needed.

MATERIALS: All attempts will made to lighten the costs for the students. The College will provide the majority of the inks, tools and equipment required. However, each student must provide paper, linoleum, wood and other required materials as needed.
