COURSE SYLABUS
COURSE NAME: Drawing I (ARTS 1316)
PURPOSE AND GOALS OF COURSE: By the end of the semester, the student will be able to demonstrate basic drawing skills and abilities using various media and materials. Still-life, landscape, and architectural subjects with emphasis upon line, value, proportion, and perspective are among topics to be covered.
COURSE GRADE: Course grade will be based upon an average of all drawing grades: First 1/2 semester portfolio, second 1/2 semester portfolio, selected drawings and final project.
METHOD OF STUDY: Drawing skills will be developed by a series of studio exercises designed to concentrate on specific elements of drawing. Your attendance and participation is central to your development as an artist. You will be graded on the quality of the drawings, but more important the DEVELOPMENT OF YOUR DRAWING SKILLS
