COURSE NAME: Art Appreciation (ARTS 1301)

PURPOSE AND GOALS OF COURSE: By the end of the semester, the student will be able to satisfactorily complete the listed learning objectives with a minimum of 70 percent competency level based on the completion of a comprehensive post examination not to exceed two hours, administered under the supervision of the instructor.
COURSE GRADE: Semester grade will be determined by the averaging of unit exams and the final exam. Participation in class discussions is expected. Various opportunities for extra credit which will be presented throughout the semester may add extra points to the grade before averaging.
METHODS OF INSTRUCTION: Lectures, films, slides, museum visits, class discussions and use of art media.
